~~~The Birth of Yashayah (JESUS): During Sukkot (Tabernacles)~~~

Jeremiah 17:4 ~ ((((LET THE SCRIPTURE SPEAK FOR IT SELF))))



The Scripture seem to indicate to us that Yashayah was born during the festival season of SUKKOT (Tabernacles). He was born on the Feast of Sukkot, which is Ethanim 15 on the biblical calendar, and is analogous to our September/October. Let us look for some evidence of this in the Bible.

In Luke 1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the King of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. Zachariah is a priest (cohen) of the division of Abijah. What does this mean? Israel was divided into 24 districts at the time of Yashayah. Each of these districts sent two representatives to officiates at the Temple during the weeks of the year. In First Chronicles 24, the first division of the priests would serve in the first week of the year, which would be both in the month of Nisan and the month Ethanim since both month begin the new year. Nisan is the first month in the religions calendar set up by the Most High in Exodus 12:2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. Ethanim is the first month of the year according to the civil calendar.

During the third week in the month of Nisan, the priest from all 24 districts would come to the temple to help during the week of Passover (Pesach). This would also be the case for the festival of Pentecost (Shavuot) and for the festival of Sukkot (Tabernacles when all males were required to go to Jerusalem as specified by the Most High in Deuteronomy.

Deuteronomy 16: 16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the AHAYAH thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the Most High empty:

In 1 Chronicles 24:10 The seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah, we see that Abijah was the eighth division or course of priests. The course of Abijah would minister during the tenth week of the year. Remember, the weeks of Passover and Shavuot would not be counted because all the priests were required to go to Jerusalem then.

In Luke 1: 9. According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. 10. And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense, we see that Zacharias is burning incense. This is done in the room of the temple known as the Holy place. As the incense which represents the prayers of the Most High people.

Psalm 141: 2. Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

Revelation 8: 3. And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand, is being burned by the priests in the temple, 18 special prayers are prayed. These 18 prayers would be prayed every day in the temple. One of these prayers is that Elijah would come. This is important because it was understood by the people, as the Most High established, that Elijah would precede the coming of the Messiah as stated in Malachi.

Malachi 4: 5. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Most High: These 18 special prayers would be prayed twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Luke 1: 11. And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. 12. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. 13. But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John, The angel appeared on the right side of the altar and told Zacharias that his prayer was heard and John (Yochanan) the Immerser (Baptist) would be born. John the Immerser was not literally Elijah, but was of the spirit of power of Elijah.

Luke 1: 17. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Allowing two weeks for the laws of separation that the Most High commanded in Leviticus.

Leviticus 12: 5. But if she bear a maid child, (H5347 “neqebah” female, woman) then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

Leviticus 15: 19. And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even. 24. And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers (H5079 “niddah” menstruous woman) be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean. 25. And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.

After going back to house Luke 1: 23. And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration (G3009) were accomplished, he departed to his own house, and then going forward nine months (Sivan [tenth week] + 2 weeks + 9 months) puts the birth of John during the festival of Passover. This study is important at this point because during the service for Passover,which is called the Passover Seder, the people are instructed by the Most High to go to the door during one part of the service and look for Elijah while the Passover meal is eaten. The cup is called the cup of Elijah. The understandingof Elijah preceding the coming of the Messiah was the basis for the question in Matthew.

Matthew 17: 10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? 11. And Yashayah (Jesus) answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 12. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. 13. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

Luke 1: 26. And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from the Most High unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, during the sixth month of Elisabeth’s pregnancy, the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary. This should have been around the twenty-fifth of Kislev, otherwise known as Chanukah. During the first century , Chanukah was known as the second Sukkot. During the time of Chanukah, all of the Sukkot prayers are prayed once again. Mary’s dialogue with the angel Gabriel is found in the Sukkot liturgy today. If you calculate from the twenty-fifth of Kislev and add eight days for the festival of Chanukah plus nine months for Mary’s pregnancy, this will bring you around the time of the festival of Sukkot, or Ethanim 15. On Ethanim 22 the eight day, Yashayah was circumcised.

Luke 2: 22 .And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; 23. (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

Leviticus 12: 1. And the MOST HIGH spake unto Moses, saying, 2. Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. 3. And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

Some other Evidences of Yashayah’s Birth during Sukkot

The Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles is called “the season of our joy” and “ the Feast of nations.”

In Luke 2: 10. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, [Sukkot is called the season of joy]which shall be to all people.[Sukkot is called the feast of the nations] So, we can see from this that the terminology the angel used to announce the birth of Yashayah were themes and messages associated with the Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles).

Luke 2: 12. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. The swaddling cloths were also used as wicks to light the 16 vats of oil within the court of the women during the festival of Sukkot. Swaddling clothes are associated with the festival of Sukkot.

Luke 2:12 notice that the baby Yashayah was laid in a manger. The word manger is the Greek word phatn’e. It is the same word translated as “stall” in luke.

Luke 13: 15. The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? By seeing how the word is used in Luke 13:15, we can see that the Greek word phatn’e means a place for hitching cattle. The Hebrew word for stall is marbek , which can be found in Amos.

Amos 6: 4 That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;

Malachi 4: 2 . But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

In Genesis, it is written that Jacob journeyed to Sukkot and made booths (the word booth in the passage is the Hebrew word sukkah; the plural is Sukkot) for his cattle. From these passages the word booth (Sukkah or Sukkot) was used by Jacob for his cattle.

Genesis 33: 17. And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him an house, and made booths for his cattle: therefore the name of the place is called Succoth. The Greek word for manger or stall, phatn’e , was also used to refer to hitching cattle in Luke 13:15. Phatn’e is the same word translated as manger in Luke 2:12, where Yashayah was laid at the time of His birth.

During the Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles), the Most High required that all male Israelites come to Jerusalem.

Deut. 16: 16. Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the MOST HIGH thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the MOST HIGH empty. For this reason, the city would be overcrowded with people and would explain why Mary and Joseph could not find lodging in and around Jerusalem.

Luke 2: 7. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. The last evidence on the birth of Yashayah during Sukkot according to the Scriptures is in Matthew.

Matthew 2: 1. Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judæa in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem. There we see that wise men come from the East to visit Yashayah. The land of the East is Babylon, where the largest population was at the time of the birth of Yashayah. These Jews were descendants from the captivity when King Nebuchadnezzar defeated Israel and took the jews to Babylon to serve him. The wise men in Matthew 2:1 were rabbis. The rabbis, called sages, are known in Hebrew as chakamin, which means wise men. The word in Matthew 2:1 in Greek is magos, which is translated into English as “Magi.” Magos in Greek is the Hebrew word ravmag. Raving comes from the Hebrew word rav, which means “rabbi.” Yashayah was referred to as “Rabbi,” of “Teacher” in John 1:38,47,49; 3:2, so, we can see that the wise men were rabbis coming from Babylon to witness the birth of Yashayah.

The question we can ask ourselves is, what made the rabbis make the journey from Babylon to Bethlehem to witness the birth of Yashayah? The answer is given in

Matthew 2: 2. Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

One of the requirements during the time of Sukkot was to build an out temporary shelter and live in it during this festival season. This shelter is called a booth, or sukkah. The sukkah had to be built with an opening in the roof so the people could see the stars in heaven. This is another reason why the rabbis would be looking for and see the star in the sky when it appeared. Let’s look at the prophecy in,

Numbers 24: 17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

King Herod inquired about where the Messiah would be born.

Matthew 2: 4. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. He was told in Bethlehem.

Matthew 2: 6. And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. 7. Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. Based upon the prophecy in

Micah 5: 2. But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

In Matthew 2:10 it is written - When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. The Sukkot is called “the season of our joy.” In Matthew 2:2, the rabbis saw the star from the East. Salvation was seen by the Jew as coming from the East.

Yashayah descended from the tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5.And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.) The tribe of Judah was positioned on the East side of the Tabernacle of Moses in the wilderness. Finally, in Luke 2: 32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

Yashayah is called a light to the Gentiles.

Lev.23: 33. And the FATHER spake unto Moses, saying,

34. Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, the fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Most High.

35. On the first day shall be an holy convocation (a set apart rehearsal): ye shall do no servile work therein.

36. Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the FATHER: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation (a set apart rehearsal ) unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Most High: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.

37. These are the feasts of the FATHER, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations (a set apart rehearsal), to offer an offering made by fire unto the Most High, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day. (every thing upon HIS DAY. (((Yashayah (Jesus) Birthday)))

Job 1:13, And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: 18. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

Job 3: 3. Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.

The festival of the FATHER found in the twenty-third chapter of the book of Leviticus are among the most fascinating and revealing topics of study and inspiration in the entire Bible, yet at the same time, they are probably the least understood. The festival of the Most High are not only historic events, but are also prophetic. They speak in much detail about the first and second coming of the Messiah. The festivals give us tremendous insight into living the life that the FATHER desires for us as believers, and into understanding our personal relationship with the FATHER.

HAPPY FEAST OF BOOTHS, Sukkah = “Booth” A temporary shelter used during the festival of Sukkot, woven together from branches and leaves. Sukkot = “booths, tabernacles.” The fall harvest festival, which goes from the fifteenth through the twenty-first of Ethanim.
